I was so excited to quilt this quilt because it was made by my friend Wanda, and I watched her make it over a couple of weeks at our guild sew nights.  Although Wanda hasn't done any appliqué before, she did an amazing job, especially since she decided to use this slippery minky fabric.  You can watch the full video here:

But for some reason, the fact that we had talked about doing custom quilting flew right out of my head!  And I chose a pantograph that I thought suited the quilt and just started quilting.  I should have known better since Wanda is a master at choosing the best panto, and she would have told me what to do!  Anyhow, I sent her a quick update photo, and she very kindly asked me what the heck I was doing!  Hahaha, after a short conversation, I picked out the half row I had quilted and went to the design board and set up for custom quilting instead LOL.

This panto would have looked just fine, but this was a quilt for Wanda's niece, and she wanted it special.  I was a little flustered and forgot to film an intro to the video.... and I forgot to take photos of my progress too 😪But here are the photos I did take.

It was getting dark when I finally finished this little quilt, but considering where I started, not too bad!  And although the quilting isn't groundbreaking or particularly inventive, it is effective, sweet, and appropriate.

It really is a cute quilt pattern.  The pattern, by the way, is by Chris Malone at Annie's Attic.

I love minky quilt backing.  I know many people struggle with it.  I don't really struggle, but I do make sure that I use my clamps with minimal tension, and I don't torque the material on the belly bar either.

Well, that's all I have to say about this quilt. Thanks for reading this far.  If you want to support my work or free content, you can buy me a coffee, watch my YouTube Videos and leave a comment, tell a friend about my channel, or extend your learning with me with my new course, Introduction to Quilting Design.

thank so much for being here,
