Ghost Quilting Block 3

So, in case you didn't know, the NHL playoffs are on right now, and as a Canadian, I am watching (almost) every game 😆.  So I saw it fitting to do a hockey guy, in honour of all those hard-skating folks out there!

Ghost Quilting Series Block 3 - VIDEO

I personally didn't play a lot of hockey after I entered high school. I was more into Rugby, but you could totally adapt this to be a volleyball player, golfer, soccer player, or lacrosse player, too. Ghost quilting really doesn't have too many limits once you figure it all out.

In the mini border, I decided to do a simple ribbon candy because I was thinking about weaving around the ice.  I like to turn my corners with a teardrop when I'm doing ribbon candy.  In the past, I have turned the corner using a pebble or decreasing on the mitre.  My grandmother taught me to skate on the pond, and sometimes it took a little creative skating.  Do you have a technique for turning a corner while quilting ribbon candy?  I would love to hear about it.

As a background fill, I thought a back-and-forth blunt line would look good. My granny taught me to skate, but my uncles taught me to shoot, hit, and handle.

Thanks for watching!
