Ghost Quilting Series - Blue Blocks

I thought, just in case someone was going to stitch-a-long, I wanted to share how I stitched my other blocks so they could keep up and keep stitching.

Ghost Quilting Series Blue Blocks - VIDEO

I kept these blocks pretty simple for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the fabrics were busy, and I didn't want to waste my time doing fancy stitchwork in these blocks.  Also, the quilt is going to be fancy enough as it is; I don't need to do a lot of extra quilting.

So I did some radiating lines coming from the center of each block.  I did break thread for each block; that was just faster than stitching along the ditch to the next block.  Also, note that I don't bring my lines all the way into the middle seam.  These seams are thick, there are 8 pieces of fabric coming into one spot. Now, depending on how well you managed your seams, you may want to avoid stitching over these.

This is also why I chose a monochromatic colour way for this quilt too; this way, I simply chose a nice blue thread that complemented most of the fabrics.  Here is a photo of the original colourway I was going to choose.  I'm happier with the blue, I think.

Thanks for watching, let me know if I made the right choice about colour here.
