Grid Quilting Block 11

For this week's quilt block, I am quilting a basic cross-hatch with a little four-petal flower at each intersection. This isn't a new design, but I find it to be really beginner-friendly and thought it would be a good one to share. If you are new to rulers, a design like this can really help you get used to starting and stopping A LOT and transitioning between ruler and free motion. This design makes me think about a climbing clematis flower. I planted 2 last year, and it would appear that neither survived my abhorrent gardening skills 😱.

This is a good beginner design because you don't have to travel far with your ruler. You could also freehand this straight line because, again, it is a short distance, and it wouldn't be too noticeable if you wobbled

I kind of played with size for these 4 petal flowers. Looking at the design from this side of the keyboard makes me analyze the design even more. I think I like the idea of making 4 longer teardrop shapes, then maybe adding in 4 shorter teardrop shapes? I have one other idea for a flower design coming up later in this series, so we will see how that goes. But I like this new idea.
