Today I am sharing a play on the continuous curve (orange peel) design. I am adding a little spike to the top of each curve to create a fairly dramatic change to the look. Make sure to watch the part of the video where I demonstrate how I rock the ruler to create this smooth spike (there are timestamps in the tracking bar of the video so you can skip right to the part where I demo this).
I haven't really moved my ruler like this before, and I don't think it would work as easily with a large ruler. I also cannot speak for the safety of this technique (so far, so good). I really like the results of this, and although it is a little more subtile that I originally intended, I think it is a very effective design (better than a loop hahaha).
