Grid Quilting Block 14

This is about the time of year when I get tired of watering my flowers (no green thumbs here🤣). Well, this week I'm going to try out another flower idea. I thought to travel along the grid lines and stitch out a more realized flower than just teardrop shapes. I began by marking the center of each grid square. This way, I could gauge the size of my petals.

The reality of this design is that it's too busy, and there isn't a place to rest your eye; it totally negates the effort of stitching on a grid. I have some ideas to try to add some dimension and create some negative space.

All I see when I look at this design is stippling, it is just too busy 😭. Should I do a short follow-up series where I fix all of the design issues I've created 🤣

PS- I am always a little scared when I share these mistakes with people. But when I speak to people who attend my presentations I speak about how we need to have some skin in the game to learn and grow, here is the proof that I practice what I preach. I really do mean it. I know we are scared to 'mess up a quilt' so make another quilt, it's just fabric and thread. You can do it.
