Grid Quilting Block 20

Grid Quilting Block 20

This is the last block of the series, and I like to call this design Pennies. But because I'm stitching this out on such a large scale, maybe I should call it toonies (Canadian joke, sorry)? I have stitched this out only once or twice before on a 1" grid, which is small enough to freehand the circles, but this grid required me to use a round ruler. I just happen to own a wild amount of round rulers, including a set from Quilter's Rule.  These rulers are a little tricky to use, but they do come in a variety of sizes.

I did mark some extra lines within my grid, but I think this is a little overkill. Once your foundation circles are in and you fill the background with a filler, you can't really tell if the circles are perfectly centred. So if you give this a try, relax, it won't be that noticeable when you step back a bit.

Thanks so much for watching this series! I learned so much, and I hope you did too. If you walk away with anything, I hope it's inspiration and the bravery to just try. Thank you.
