Quilting a silver bells quilt

This silver bells quilt was so much fun to quilt.  I think I liked it so much because of the negative space and the unique composition of the pattern.  I had a lot of fun coming up with the designs.

I could tell right from the get-go that this was a curated quilt with all of the fabrics being from a singular line or designer.  When I come across quilts like these, I always design around the fabric.  The person who made this quilt clearly LOVES the fabric, and I want to make sure that I don't obscure it with too much quilting.  So I stick to straight lines and minimal backtracking.

When I was designing the outline of the bell, I decided that I needed to taper the edges into the flare of the bottom of the bell.  I think this looks better than a bunch of blunt lines intersecting each other. I did change the plan for the bands on bell, but otherwise the plan was pretty successful.

I did some ghost quilting to save me from having to pebble the entire background 🀣and I really like the design I came up with for some holly.

I premarked where I wanted them on the quilt so they were evenly dispersed.

I think this whole quilt came out really well.  Make sure to watch the video for some tips on quilting the mixed pebble background and the rope design I'm still working on.

Let's make 2026 a great year!
